About Gunner Wiebe
Golf has shaped most of my life, but my perspective on the game has been formed by much more than competition.
I spent more than a decade playing professionally in the United States and internationally, including three seasons on the DP World Tour, three seasons on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, a season as a Korn Ferry Tour member, several PGA TOUR starts and the 2023 Open Championship. That career gave me the opportunity to experience an unusually broad range of golf courses — across different countries, climates, landscapes, architectural traditions and levels of the game.
Over time, my interest increasingly shifted toward why certain golf environments work: how a property moves, how architecture responds to the land, how strategy and playability intersect, and how the decisions made long before construction ultimately shape the experience of a golf course.
That perspective also began early. I grew up in Denver in a golf family as the son of Mark Wiebe, a two-time PGA TOUR winner and five-time PGA TOUR Champions winner, including the 2013 Senior Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Today, through Wiebe Consulting, I work with owners and investment groups on golf-development opportunities from site evaluation and due diligence through planning, design coordination and execution.
My work sits at the intersection of land, architecture and development — evaluating properties, studying terrain and routing, helping shape project strategy, coordinating with architects and technical consultants, and contributing to the decisions that influence how a golf course ultimately fits the land and plays.
I’m a 2011 graduate of the University of San Diego and now live in Boise with my wife and two children.
